The Blue Album...Pinkerton...THE GREEN ALBUM
~ brief bio of Weezer~
Weezer was formed in 1992 by Rivers Cuomo(lead guitar/lead vocals), Jason Cropper(guitar/vocals), Matt Sharp (Bass, Vocals), and Pat Wilson(drums). That lineup only recorded one song called 'Jamie'. That song is on the DGC release 'DGC rarities Vol. One'. In 1993, David Geffen signed Weezer. That same year Jason Cropper left the band and was replaced by Brian Bell. 'Weezer', their self titled debut, was a big hit. It sprung off singles such as 'Undone (The Sweater Song)', 'Buddy Holly', and 'Say it ain't So'. Ric Ocasek of the Cars produced the album. After that, the band took a break. Rivers went to Harvard. Brian persused in his band, The Space Twins. Matt persued in his band The Rentals. pat persued in his band Special Goodness. In 1996, Weezer's self-produced album 'Pinkerton' was released.I was not as big of a hit as 'Weezer', but people were happy with it. Some singles off of it were 'El Scorcho', and 'The Good Life'. In 1998 Matt Sharp left the band to persue in the Rentals. Mikey Welsh, formerly of Juleana Hatfeild's band, replaced him. Go buy Weezers third album, THE GREEN ALBUM (Weezer)! It is in stores already...
